DT3.0.2: Contrast local [local laplacian cl] failed: -4 --> temps d'export trés long

Tout d’abord un grand merci à toute l’équipe, et à Aurélien: La version 3 de DT est top !

J’ai profité du confinement pour changer de PC… J’ai remplacé mon ancien i7 3Ghz par un Dell T5600 (station de travail d’occasion) équipé de 64GB de RAM, d’un double Xéon E5-2690: 16 Coeurs/32 Threads à 2.9+GHz, d’un disque NVMe de 1To à 3GB/s, carte Nvidia RTX2060… pour bien moins cher qu’un i7 ou i9 neuf. j’ai installé Manjaro (rolling release, pour avoir les dernières version des logiciels, dont DT), et je suis passé de Cinnamon à KDE/Plasma. Ca marche bien… sauf que je suis tombé sur un truc bizare que je trouve génant et que je ne comprends pas…

Lorsque j’exporte certaines de mes photos CR2 en JPG 1500x1500, le temps requis pour exporter chaque image passe de 3 à 4 secondes à plus de 50 secondes… 50 secondes par image, c’est juste pas possible, vue la quantité de fichier que je traite dans mes shooting en studio !

En lançant DT depuis la ligne de commande:

On constate que sur les images qui posent problèmes, le « local laplacian cl » semble planter:

Ce qui semble conduire à un temps de calcul exorbitant en CPU (malgrés les 32 threads disponibles).

Exporter la même image, sur la même machiine, avec les mêmes réglages de DT (même compte utilisateur), mais dans Cinnamon, au lieu de Plasma, ne génére pas cette erreur et conduit à un comportement satisfaisant:

L’erreur OpenCL -4 signifie que le logiciel n’a pas réussi à allouer un espace mémoire sur la carte graphique pour pouvoir traiter l’image.

Ce qui se passe, c’est donc que l’image est renvoyée sur la RAM et traitée par le processeur normal, puis à nouveau ré-expédiée sur la mémoire graphique. Voilà l’origine de la dégradation majeure de performance.

Maintenant, reste à comprendre ce qui fait planter l’allocation mémoire. Ce module est l’un des plus gourmands en mémoire, donc ça peut être soit un souci de config OpenCL dans darktablerc (est-ce que tu as essayé de changer les options en regardant le manuel ?) ou un manque d’espace mémoire vidéo (enfin, avec 6 Go de mémoire ça devrait aller, ou bien tu traites des fichiers Phase One de 100 Mpx ?).

Alternativement, il se peut que la carte OpenCL utilisée soit… celle du GPU intégré sur ton Xeon, si tu as installé le driver OpenCL Intel Neo. Tu peux renvoyer le résultat de la commande darktable-cltest ?

Étrange, tout a l’air normal. Est-ce qu’il y a une grosse pile de module utilisée sur la photo incriminée ?

Le problème se produit sur pas mal de photos, mais pas sur toutes.

Note: Ce qui est étrange, c’est que le problème se produit sous KDE/Plasma et pas sous Cinnamon… bizarre

Aurais tu une idée d’ajustements que je puisse faire sur les paramètres OPENCL de DT ?

Ci dessous, la seconde image, c’est la liste des modules activés pour l’image qui ne pose pas de problème:

J’ai oublié de mentionner que j’ai un écran 4k sur lequel se trouve DT, et 2 écrans 1920x1080.

A noter également, le problème se produit lorsque j’exporte la photo (table lumineuse), mais pas quans je l’édite (chambre noire)… Durant l’édition de la photo, les choses sont (relivement) fluides. En tout cas on ne constate pas de temps d’attente de 40s lorsqu’on fait évoluer les paramètres du module contraste local.
